Monforts coating range production gets underway

Production has started on the complete new range of Monforts coating units at its European-based production facility in Austria, which is preparing to celebrate 35th anniversary.

Monforts production facility in Austria, Montex Maschinenfabrik Ges.m.b.H, has started production of the recently introduced complete range of coating units, with the first coating lines being shipped for delivery to Colombia, Mexico and Italy.

The facility also manufactures the complete ranges of hi-tech Montex stenters, Sanforising lines, Thermex continuous dyeing ranges, Padders and purpose built lines for Technical Textiles.

It has been the ability of Montex Maschinenfabrik to produce tailor-made Monforts machine ranges according to specific customer requirements – and also to build ranges for technical textiles units – that has earned it such a high reputation worldwide.

Located in Sankt Stefan near Graz, Austria, the company’s facility changed its name to Montex Maschinenfabrik in the early 1980s; and is planning to celebrate its 35th anniversary later this year. It now covers an area of 12,000 m², with around 50 per cent dedicated to production. The machine shop is equipped with the latest Trumpf CNC laser cutting and bending presses. Customers are also always welcome to visit and witness their machines under production.

“We are a specialist in sheet metal work,” says Plant Manager, Gert Hanzl. “We always did a little third party work, but began to pursue more in recent years to the extent that, today this represents around 10 per cent of our business and growing.”

A recent delivery was for cabinet covers for Azerbaijan’s new airport in Baku.

Spare parts delivery

All mechanical spare parts are handled by Montex Austria. “This shortens delivery,” said Assembly Manager Karl ‘Charlie’ Krammer adding, “We are now handling more than 40 orders weekly ensuring fast turnaround times. Orders are converted from the Monforts SAP system to the Montex Production Planning System (PPS) overnight for dispatch.”

Among special builds recently completed included three machines for the American Market, all for technical textile applications. The company also achieved a record-breaking three sanforisers ready for shipment whilst, at the same time, a further three were under construction – all bound for customers in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Spain and Turkey.
