Modi visits ABB and Siemens booths at Hannover

Honourable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel visited Siemens AG and ABB booth at Hannover Messe 2015, the world´s biggest industrial fair. PM Modi has been actively furthered India as a manufacturing destination at Hannover Messe, promising an environment that is transparent, predictable, and stable.

At Siemens´ stall, Modi and Merkel are seen along with Joe Kaeser, President and CEO, Siemens AG (second from right) and Klaus Helmrich, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG. Siemens India reaffirmed its commitment to partner India at the Hannover, showcasing integrated technologies for manufacturing automation and smart cities from the comprehensive electrification, automation and digitalisation portfolio.

At ABB stall, Bazmi Husain, Managing Director, ABB India and Ulrich Spiesshofer, CEO, ABB presented YuMi to Modi and Merkel. ABB has been making in India for more than five decades and has invested in world-class facilities and resources in the country. Today, ABB India is the seventh largest contributor to group revenue and has ABs largest corporate research centre.

YuMi is the worl´s first collaborative dual-arm robot, launched at Hanover Fair 2015. With this robot, it will be the first time that humans and machines will be able to work hand-in-hand in the same workspace, freed from the constraints posed by safety barriers. ABB is a leader in robotics: In 1974, the company unveiled the worls first icroprocessor-controlled electric industrial robot. Today, ABB has an installed base of more than 2,50,000 industrial robots, many of which already are equipped with intelligent technology that enables remote maintenance.
