Shipments in most of the textile machinery segments experienced declines in 2014. Deliveries of new short-staple spindles fell by 15 per cent from 2013 to 2014. Shipped long-staple spindles and open-end rotors increased by 70 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively.

Yarn Expo Autumn 2015 will take place for the first time in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), a bigger venue that is closer to China’s textile manufacturing hubs in surrounding provinces, from 13-15 October.

China will start selling its massive cotton stockpiles this year, in a move likely to depress demand as the country’s mills hold off buying in anticipation of sales of discounted fibre.
