Giriraj Singh, who represents Nawada (Bihar) Parliamentary constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha, has taken charge as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Over 100 workers from the textile industry protested in Gurugram recently. Gurugram is a hub for textile manufacturing and thousands of workers are employed in the sector. However, the workers claim that they are not paid as per the pay scale prescribed by the government.

The Gujarat Government said that it is extending its textile policy for one more year. The five-year term of the policy was to expire on September 4. But, now it shall remain under implementation till September 3, 2018. The industries and mining department issued the government resolution. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani approved the extension of the policy for one year.
