The Government of Maharashtra plans to introduce a new textile policy in the next two months. The aim is to attract entrepreneurs in the entire value chain, besides seeing that existing unit do not migrate to other major cotton-growing States.

GHCL, a well-diversified group with ascertained footprints in chemicals, textiles and consumer products, announced that it has been recognised as one of the best workplaces in manufacturing sector by the Great Place to Work Institute.

Union minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta said the ministry has accorded high priority to develop the silk sector as a viable option for livelihood in the northeast. The region makes up about 21 per cent of the country’s total silk production.
