Mafatlal Industries (MIL), the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group and one of India’s oldest and most trusted textile institutions, announced its foray into Mafatlal Apparel Exports (MAE). This strategic move marks MIL’s transition from being a leading textile and institutional supplier to a full-fledged contemporary apparel brand, reinforcing its 120-year legacy with a modern, global outlook.

Building on its reputation for quality and craftsmanship, Mafatlal Apparels will cater to a wide spectrum of fashion and casual apparel categories. The initial focus will be on everyday fashion and casual wear designed to meet the aspirations of global markets and leading multinational brands.

Speaking on the launch, Priyavrata Mafatlal, Managing Director, Mafatlal Industries, said, “This launch writes a bold new chapter in Mafatlal’s 120-year journey. For generations, India has trusted us to dress through fabrics and uniforms; today, we carry that trust into a modern global apparel supplier. With Mafatlal Apparel, our mission is to expand globally while retaining the integrity and workmanship that define us. We are not just launching a business; we are carrying forward a legacy with renewed purpose.”

Echoing the sentiment, MB Raghunath, CEO, Mafatlal Industries, added, “Mafatlal Apparel is a defining milestone in our evolution from textile manufacturing to a fully integrated apparel solutions umbrella. For more than a century, Mafatlal has been synonymous with quality, trust, and craftsmanship. Now, by moving closer to the global consumer, strengthening exports, and anchoring ourselves in sustainability and innovation, we are building a future-ready business. This investment positions Mafatlal Apparel as a reliable sourcing partner for global brands.”

The venture represents both strategic and financial significance, elevating the Group’s consumer profile. It also validates the broader diversification of the Arvind Mafatlal Group into lifestyle, health, and durables, where industrial capabilities are seamlessly aligned with consumer-facing businesses.
