Luwa Air Engineering AG, Switzerland, the global leader in the field of textile air engineering, will be presenting their services and innovations at ITMA. The company will provide its new innovations:

  • MultiCell Filter MCV with its compact and space saving design
  • The new efficient and power saving Axial Flow Fan Series B6XX
  • The reliable TexGuard System for metal detection and fire protection

Beside these new products, Luwa will present its solutions for heat recovery in textile processing plants. The entire sales and technical team of Luwa´s worldwide organisation will be present at the booth.
For the first time, the MultiCell Filter MCV, which is based on Luwa´s proven filtration technology and incorporates leading edge developments, fulfilling the latest requirements of the textile manufactures, will be on display. The technology of MultiCell Filter MCV is patented and with its modular and space saving concept perfectly suitable for machine exhaust air cleaning of blowroom and carding machines as well as in air conditioning plants for the dust and fly filtration of the room return air.

The new Luwa MultiCell Filter MCV opens up many opportunities to reduce the required floor space of air conditioning- and filtration plants in textile mills.

The MultiCell Filter MCV offers the following advantages: Only 1/3 floor space required compared to conventional rotary air filter; increased filter area for power saving; simple and robust 2-axis suction nozzle robot; modular design; and dual use: filtration of room return air and machine exhaust air.

The new Axial flow fan series B6XX has been developed with focus on power saving – Axial flow fans are the main power consumer in an air conditioning or filter plant in a textile mill. In spinning, the company account to around 55 per cent and, in weaving it goes up to 75 per cent of total consumed electrical power. Luwa has taken action to reduce this power consumption.

The B600 Axial Flow Fan with its sickle shaped blades has been developed in connection with the University of Siegen (Germany) following the requirements in textile air conditioning plants. Comparable with best available efficient fans in the markets, the Luwa Axial Flow Fan B600 can save up to 6 per cent of consumed electrical power.

The power saving features of the Luwa B600 Axial flow:

  • Sickle shaped impeller for highest efficiency
  • Wide selection of fan configurations with different diameters and numbers of blades
  • Software to determine the most efficient fan configuration
  • Nano-coating of the blades to prevent dust deposits to keep efficiency constant at all time at maximum level
  • CFD simulation optimised inlet and outlet configuration of fan

TexGuard System is Luwa´s recent product expansion. Secure and reliable operation of blowroom and carding machines requires detection and elimination of all kind of metal contamination in cotton, avoiding possible sparks in different stages of operation including securing the filtration system. The system combines spark and metal detector with a high speed flap to be integral part in the textile material conveyance streams or waste collection system.

The spark detector is designed for catching up with high conveying air speeds with high material content. Equipped with an ultra-sensitive wide angle lens the detector senses fully enclosed sparks and deliver the signal to the high speed diverter flap for shortest installation distance in the industry.

All events are being recorded in the monitoring system and can be accessed through the Luwa Digi Control System.
