Lenzing Group introduces a groundbreaking real-time ocean shipment tracker in collaboration with digital supply chain solutions provider Project44.
Lenzing Group, a leading maker of wood-based speciality fibres, has introduced a groundbreaking real-time ocean shipment tracker in collaboration with digital supply chain solutions provider Project 44. This innovative tool enhances transparency and sustainability in the textile and nonwoven supply chain while offering real-time insights into carbon emissions.
The tracker integrates with Lenzing’s systems and utilises AI, GPS sensors, and machine learning, providing customers with accurate, real-time information on their fibre orders, including shipment status, container location, vessel routes, and estimated arrival times at global ports.
“Supply chain disruptions have highlighted the importance of advanced ocean shipment tracking. Our real-time tracker aligns with Lenzing’s ‘Better Growth’ strategy, promoting digital transformation and supply chain transparency,” said Thomas Panholzer, Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Lenzing.
Lenzing’s tracker also supports sustainability goals by offering carbon emission data accredited by the Global Logistics Emission Council (GLEC) framework, enabling collaborative efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Jett McCandless, CEO of Project44, emphasised the significance of such partnerships, stating that Lenzing’s tracker provides customers unprecedented access to global shipment information.
This milestone initiative marks Lenzing’s commitment to environmental responsibility, supported by partners like the Pallavaa Group, dedicated to carbon-neutral solutions.
Christian Platzer, Vice President of Global IT & Digital Innovation at Lenzing, highlighted the company’s vision for digitalization, fostering customer satisfaction and supply chain transparency.
Starting this September, Lenzing’s real-time ocean shipment tracker will empower customers worldwide, ushering in a new era of transparency and sustainability in the global fibre supply chain.
