In a carding machine, all 80-110 numbers of revolving flat wire points are positioned in a manner to create a channelised flow for fibres to travel in a unidirectional flow where the fibre is individualised and channelised to produce sliver.

Lakshmi Card Clothing (LCC) is a global leader in providing complete card room solutions. Since their inception in 1960, they continue to strengthen their market leadership with a wide range of products that are uniquely developed through innovation and commitment. They have always led the market globally with the power of technology to deliver world-class carding accessories. LCC is the largest producer of metallic card clothing and card service machines in India. Over the years, their courage and strength withstood challenges amidst the growing market. Their strong consumer-oriented R&D enables them to reinforce their market visibility with cutting-edge solutions in card room technology.

Redefining textile technology of future

Capitalising on the success of a range of cutting-edge products in card clothing, LCC has invented Contra, a highly ground-breaking range of flat tops. Ingeniously designed to surpass market expectations, this latest invention from LCC will revolutionise the textile industry in achieving quality like never before.

The carding process has a significant influence on the yarn quality. It is well known that the carding action is merely influenced by the fibre individualisation between cylinder to flat tops. In a carding machine, all 80-110 numbers of revolving flat wire points are positioned in a manner to create a channelised flow for fibres to travel in a unidirectional flow where the fibre is individualised and channelised to produce sliver.

Revolutionising textile with next-gen flat tops

To produce perfectly carded fibres and even out the carding process, a change in direction of fibre flow is needed. In this arrangement, the flat tops are placed alternatively to one another to change the direction of fibre flow.

By bringing about this change, LCC could deliver never before results of maintaining an unvarying carding action that enables improved quality of yarn.

With the conviction to perform, LCC customised and invented a revolutionary product, Contra flat tops with its refined and sophisticated engineering that can produce the highest quality of yarn possible.

Contra: The shape of genius

The Contra Flat Tops is a result of sheer determination and dedication of their customer-centric R&D team. It is a patented design with an innovative construction with canal paths to divert the flow of the fibres in opposite directions. The twist and turns in opposite directions are the masterstrokes of the flat tops that enable better carding and best yarn.

For instance, if one flat top has pins in left helix direction, the next flat top has its pins arranged to facilitate the fibres to turn in the right helix direction, thereby improve combing.

Again, the third top will be coming into action to divert fibre flow in the left helix direction. This diversion will continuously happen during carding process, so that the fibres are constantly deflected from one direction to another direction during carding. This new and innovative setting will result in adequate action on the fibres and thus these fibres will be diverted with the help of pins arranged in different direction in each flat top to result in a product that is of exceptional quality.

Advantages include:

  • Enhanced fibre separation action between cylinder to flat tops
  • Improved Nep removal efficiency
  • Reduction in yarn imperfections and Classimat faults
  • Made of High Tensile Alloy Steel Wire and increased rubber topping thickness

LCC believes that to meet the growing market demands, it is important to perfect their innovations. Contra Flat Tops is one such creation. It is truly one-of-its-kind and supreme in engineering and delivery.
