An approval from the Union Cabinet needs to be obtained by the Textile Ministry for the proposed Mega Investment Textiles Parks (MITRA) scheme.

Under this scheme, seven parks will be set up in the country over the next three years. She has also mentioned that the ministry of textiles also wants the approval of the cabinet for the proposed scheme. The details of location and government funding structure will be disclosed once the approval is sanctioned.

Jardosh also said that in the cotton growing states, CCI has opened more than 450 procurement centres. Under MSP operations, CCI has continued its procurement of cotton as the season started in order to avoid the eventuality of distress sales by farmers.
