NITMA pleads for quick action on ADD on viscose yarn

NITMA president Sanjay Garg pleads for quick notification on ADD on Viscose Spun Yarn originating from Indonesia, Vietnam and China, as recommended by DGTR vide its notification on 30th December 2020.

Garg further added that such cheap imports are also not in favour of government’s “Make in India” initiative and acts as a big disincentive for the downstream industry from investment’s perspective, which restricts the growth and expansion of domestic industry.

Garg also informed that representation on the above has already been sent to Ministry of Finance. The NITMA president admired and congratulated the Finance Minister for promising union budget 2021 especially for textile and the clothing sector .

As a closing remark, Garg humbly appealed for expeditious issuance of notification for levying Anti-Dumping Duty on viscose spun yarn originating in or exported from Indonesia, Vietnam and China and imported into India to save domestic industry from the cheap imports into the country as it had been causing considerable amount of injury to domestic manufacturers .
