Chhattisgarh plans green textile park

The Chhattisgarh Government is planning to develop a ‘green’ textile park with world-class eco system, for which the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) has identified a 30-hectare land at Village Khapri, in Raipur district.

The project will comprise elaborate solid waste management practices, treated water supply system, storm water management, rain water harvesting and common effluent treatment plant. The proposed textile park is aimed at providing one-stop integrated facilities with manufacturing support, welfare and common infrastructure facilities to the prospective textile industries.

Besides, there will be testing laboratory, design centre, training centre, trade and display centre, conferencing and meeting facilities, warehouse/raw material depot, packaging unit canteen and worker hostels and recreation centre. Incidentally, the Central Government has approved projects worth Rs 99 crore for upgradation of key industrial infrastructure in Chhattisgarh.
