SSM showed their newest textile machines at ShanghaiTex for the first time. The Swiss based SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG, the inventor of the electronic yarn traverse system, took part at the ShanghaiTex.

Saurer Group presented its full range of new technologies in fibre processing from raw material to a multitude of yarns during the Shanghaitex 2017. The product range further included different finishing processes. For Saurer it was yet another opportunity to present the group as the partner of choice along the textile value chain with its full product range.

From the 1987 ITMA on, Mayer & Cie. began to receive orders for machines with relative technology. The first three Relanits were shipped to Berlin in January 1988. Jürgen Müller assembled them. He is still with Mayer & Cie., as are his colleagues Johannes Bitzer, Axel Brünner, Rolf Gonser and Thomas Maier. All five of them worked as technicians in final assembly back in 1987. In this interview, they recall their pioneering days with the Relanit.
