Warp wnitting is considered as a sunrise sector for the synthetic textiles chain. ATE Enterprises offers machinery for circular and warp knitting and also complete package of machinery for processing all kinds of knit fabrics, including high content elastane and delicate synthetic blended fabrics.

The world produces over 17 mt of knitted textiles and apparels annually, representing one third of the global textile market. Moreover, knit output is forecasted to grow by 25 per cent over the next 10 years, reaching more than 21 mt. Apart from the apparel sector, the volume of knit fabrics consumption for producing technical textiles is also increasing rapidly where usually warp knitted fabrics are considered. Experts say countries like India, China, Russia and Turkey are going to dominate the growth in the technical textiles business in the future.

Knitwear exports from India are also poised for substantial growth, due to the shift in preference for leisure and sportswear along with the demand for t-shirts arising out of "home office" and open collar work culture in the western countries. Over the last few years, whereas woven garments exports grew by 10 per cent, knitted garments exports leapfrogged by around 43 per cent. While India has to compete with Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries in the exports of cotton knits, it has managed to carve a niche for itself because of its innovations in styling and quality control. Indias major markets for stretch fabrics and garments are now North America and Europe, with new outlets emerging in Eastern Europe and South America. Leading international brands have established a strong foothold in India. Global players like GAP, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike International, Reebok, C&A, Migros, Woolworth, Guess, Fila, Tom Taylor, JC Penney, Fruit of the Loom, Bugle Boy, IZOD and Wal-Mart have opened their own offices in India to source knitwear products. The merchandise is varied, extending from undergarments and t-shirts to sportswear, lingerie and swim wear. In case of sportswear, swim wear, etc., warp knitted fabrics are used with a high content of elastane. This calls for suitable technology for handling the fabrics, especially for dyeing and finishing.

Apart from export business, the business in the domestic market is also growing rapidly. Rising disposable income, a shift towards urbanisation and the retail boom have given way to "look good feel good" attitude. Within apparels, knit wear has become extremely popular owing to the higher degree of comfort it tends to provide to the skin/body. On account of the growth in knit garment exports, the demand for processed fabrics is increasing and many modern knit dye houses with a state-of-art technology have come up in the past 10 years. We at A.T.E. have carefully studied the trend of knit business and accordingly we have consolidated our product portfolio to cater to the needs of knit industry. We can offer machinery for circular and warp knitting and also complete package of machinery for processing all kinds of knit fabrics, including high content elastane and delicate synthetic blended fabrics.
