Kewal Kiran Clothing buys 50% of Kraus Jeans for Rs 166.51 crore

The company has ventured into the realm of women’s denim and casual wear.

Kewal Kiran Clothing, renowned for its four menswear brands – Killer, Integriti, Lawman Pg3, and easies within its portfolio, has recently secured a 50% stake in Kraus Casuals for Rs 166.51 crore.

Following this development, the company has ventured into the realm of women’s denim and casual wear.

KCPL, operating presently under the Kraus jeans brand, specialises in the production, sale, design, and exportation of women’s clothing, primarily focusing on casual and denim bottom and top wear for women, teenagers, and children.

Previously, the business functioned under the umbrella of a partnership firm named Oriental Trading Company.

Kraus distributes its products through 1,000 large format stores, including Lifestyle, Pantaloons, Reliance, Shoppers Stop, and Lulu, and boasts a network of 8 exclusive brand outlets, while KKCL maintains a network of 488 exclusive brand outlets.

According to Kewalchand Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of KKCL, “We have been endeavouring to acquire a brand in the women’s wear category, and with the recent acquisition, we are poised to expand our presence in this segment as well.”
