ITM 2018, the 7th edition, held at Istanbul in Turkey witnessed over 50,000 visitors’ footfalls, bringing smiles on the faces of around 1500 exhibitors, covering technologies in the entire range of textile machinery and accessories and also yarn producers.

There were 28 textile machinery companies and 68 yarn producers from India, who exhibited their latest machinery, and products for the Turkish textile industry and the countries near it. A grand opening, big crowd with a good number of quality visitors from 80 countries, conveniently-linked two more exhibitions — Yarn Fair and the technical textile show — Hightex, made the ITM 2018 Exhibition one of the biggest events for the global textile industry. In its 7th edition, the ITM was organised by TEMSAD in cooperation with Teknik Fairs Inc and TÜYAP.

This great meeting held in Istanbul, where countries are geographically close to each other, allowed industry representatives to introduce their latest technologies for the first time. A few examples included Saurer launching 2 latest high-tech machinery, Itema Weaving with a breakthrough in denim weaving and Efi Reggiani’s offer of a sustainable printing machine in its COLORS. ITM proved yet again that it is the bridge between the Eastern and the Western textile worlds.

At ITM 2018, which undoubtedly is majortextile technologies show with participation of hundreds of global investors and manufacturers who develop pioneering technologies in the field, companies from all sectors of the industry serving latest technological products from cotton to yarn, weaving, knitting, digital printing, dyeing and finishing, were brought together.

Purchasing delegations from many countries such as Iran, Uzbekistan, India, Russia, Egypt, Morocco, Panama, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Kenya participated in the exhibition. In addition, the Panama Colon Free Zone, the world’s second largest Free Zone, attended the ITM with its booth.

ITM hosted 1450 companies and representatives from 64 countries in the Tüyap Exhibition and Congress Center in 12 halls covering an area of 120, 000 square meters. More than 50,000 visitors, beating all expectations from 80 countries attended the show, which ran from April 14 to 17, 2018.

The 15th International Istanbul Yarn Fair and the 7th International Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Trade Fair were held concurrently with the ITM 2018 Exhibition. Continuing to be one of the most important platforms which guides the yarn industry, the Yarn Exhibition hosted the representatives of the sector for four days. It included 68 yarn producers from India, who expressed immense satisfaction during the exhibition. High-performance and quality products of the largest producers of the industry were exhibited at the Hall 11 during the exhibition.

The HIGHTEX 2018 Exhibition, which is the first and only exhibition in its field and is held for the seventh time, introduced the textile products such as nonwoven and technical textiles with smart and latest technological developments. It is one of the most important markets of the textile industry, which is rapidly adapting to the technological developments. In addition to this, the 8th ETT 2018 Istanbul International Textile Conference was held by Marmara University.
