The Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA) has signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with the Textile Association India (TAI), the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and the Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) on 5 September 2014 at MC Ghia Hall, Mumbai.

ITAMMA is working on a vision to make India a hub of textile accessories and machineries by 2020, and accordingly they have set up a mission plan, for the same. Under this mission plan they have taken efforts to help their members in enriching their knowledge and upgrading their technological development, through various cluster development initiatives like 5S, design awareness, lean, CFC, etc., to further help them to sustain in this competitive global market. They also help their members in enhancing their business activities under the umbrella of export initiatives, through various cost competitive & innovative schemes, helping them to show case their products and strengths at international exhibitions.

More than 30 per cent of ITAMMA members are exporting their machines & components to various countries, and today most of the international customers ask for various certifications & accreditations of the reputed and globally approved certification bodies. Thus, MoU with SGS will play an important role in helping ITAMMA members in these areas.

Arup Jana, Material Sales Manager, SGS India, delivered the presentations and signed the MoU on behalf of SGS. ITAMMA, under the lean manufacturing and design awareness programmes helps its members to implement cutting edge technologies and deliver cost competitive sustainable innovations with the concept of resource conservation (energy, water) and automation.

Considering the important role of lubrication and lubricants, it was utmost essential to work closely with the renowned lubricant manufacturers like BPCL. Therefore, the MoU with BPCL will enlighten and enrich the knowledge of ITAMMA member-manufacturers in the selection & applications of the appropriate lubricants for their machines.

K Ravi, Dy General Manager (P&AD), BPCL, delivered the presentations, while KP Chandy, Executive Director (Lubes), BPCL, signed the MoU.

ITAMMA has taken many initiatives in strengthening the bond between textile manufacturing industry and textile engineering industry, which is of utmost importance today for developing both the industries in the areas of technology, knowledge and business.

Arvind Sinha, President, TAI, delivered the presentations and signed MoU on behalf of TAI. Diven Dembla, President, ITAMMA signed the above MOU´s on behalf of ITAMMA.
