Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, will soon launch a comprehensive testing facility in Bangladesh to support the RMG industry in South Asia in view of the growing business volume. Bangladesh is the world´s second largest exporter of RMG with contribution on $21.5 billion in 2012-13 amounting to nearly 80 per cent of the total exports and is therefore an important hub for the Softlines business. The lab will be a one-stop testing facility for all quality and safety assurance solutions across industry players in South Asia for countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. Intertek´s Dhaka lab will incorporate new testing capabilities and will be equipped with state of the art machinery to support advanced testing systems. The lab will not only sharpen the competitive edge of regional clients who require high standards of quality and safety for their products, but also help them to gain competitive advantage and ensure that they achieve acceptable standards for international buyers. Intertek has announced that the official launch ceremony will take place on June 25.
