AIRpipe has been engaging in the air compressor industry and air transmission industry ever since 1997 and the company was founded in 2008, making products for compressed air pipeline network system. AIRpipe system is designed to improve user’s air quality, change environment and reduce cost of fluid transmission and prolong its lifespan. Santosh Kumar, Director, Instamod Airpipe, suggests factors to select the best air compressor as well as the recnet trends in airpipe.

How is Instamod Airpipe catering to the textile industry?

Air in the textile industry has a vital role to play whether it is Spinning, weaving, or even garmenting. We started our 1st reach in the South India market from Erode / Salem/ Palladam where most of the customers were using only GI/MS pipes but when we had given them the ROI calculation theoretically, no one believed that with AL pipe anyone could even save 30 per cent energy but there is a phrase “fortune favors the brave” and that same happened to many customers from 0 to now 50,000 installations in that area. The second market we explored was in the West part of India “Kolhapur” where we have big & small spinning/weaving units. They also started using AL piping which resulted in power saving, easy installation, zero leakage, less pressure drop, and last but not least energy saving of up to 30 per cent in their electricity bill. When 2 big market opts for such a product who can stop another big market in the North Rajasthan belt where out of 10 customers around 8 customers opt for AL pipes.

What are the recent trends in the compressor and Airpipe sector?

In reality, too much work needs to be done in the AIRline industry, if we calculate the organised Compressor industry, we can say Rs 8,000 crore industry will be there and unorganised sector we have another Rs 1,000 crore. However, if we add the total AL piping suppliers and check the total market we all are collectively doing Rs 300 crore even though not 10 per cent of the organised compressor market, so it means when the world is going through global warming where we all collectively need to think on this even small industrialist can contribute by using “Energy saving Compressed AIRpipe line system” as we all always try to have a good quality of Compressor which is heart of AIR but no one thinks of Pipeline which is artery of AIR. So please wake everyone to start using AL pipeline and save more money, and energy followed by saving the earth.

What factors must the manufacturer have to take into account when selecting the best air compressor line?

• What is the grade of the AL pipe.
• What are fittings made up of Plastic or Metal
• Sealing technology
• Less pressure drops when designing a pipeline
• No leakage in the pipeline

Is it so important to consider the quality of compressed air in the industry? If so, on what parameters? And is this power source cost-effective?

AIR quality is always been ignored in many industries which can be easily understood by the fact that still most of the industry uses GI/MS pipes. Since air needs to travel from utility to usage area, somehow moisture gets developed inside the GI/MS pipe, and impurities develop due to oxidation with the internal surface of the pipeline so what you start losing can be summarised as Dia of the pipe squeezed up, the air quality deteriorates, the flow of the air becomes turbulent which lead to pressure loss due to which loading and unloading on compressor increasing due to which wear & tear of the compressor components such as belt, oil, the filter will get affected, impurities which are developed inside the pipe will travel along with air and will start affecting FRL, Solenoid valve seals, PU tube, Fitting seals, last but not least Pneumatic cylinder seals which will lead to more maintenance and production loss.

Instamod has 3 verticals among these AQUApipe which are the SS pipeline for the compressed airline, a few gases, steam, and oil, also it started having a good market share due to modern technology, particularly in the Textile, Pharma & Food industries.
