Ingersoll Rand products focus on enery saving, safety, sustainability

Ingersoll Rand products range from complete compressed air systems, tools and pumps to material and fluid handling systems.

In an exclusive interview with the Indian Textile Journal, Dipen Shah, Territory Leader – India & Africa, Ingersoll Rand Power Tools, talks on various products offers by the company in textile space and future of this growing industry. Excerpts from the interview.

ITJ Editor: What are the products & technologies of Ingersoll Rand applicable to textile industry?
Dipen Shah (DS):
Ingersoll Rand power Tools´ products are used for maintenance of a machine, material handling while manufacturing and in dispatch area, air motors for automation / packaging and textile machine manufacturing / building.

  • Maintenance of machine: Impact tool: IR air impact tools & cordless battery tool are used for maintaining textile machines. Battery grease gun: Portable cordless battery guns are used for lubrication.
  • Material handling while manufacturing & in dispatch area: Rail & balancer on Machine. Friction free rails are used while manufacturing, loading & unloading textile rolls, raw materials, etc.
  • Electric/air chain hoist: Used for handling heavy rolls is dispatch & receiving area.
  • Air motors for automation/packaging: Air motors are used for automation & rotation application, also used in packaging.

ITJ Editor: For the textile machinery builders, what equipment and knowhow are available and what are their chief characteristics?
DS:
For textile machine manufacturing/building the following equipment are available:

Grinder: Used at the time of casting & finishing (G&M Series grinders)
Precision assembly tools: Machine assembly for critical parts & rollers (QX/QE & oil pulse tool)
Torque wrench: Torque verification (Click/Dial & Digital Type Torque wench)
Material handling solution: Rail system, air balancer used for goods movement on shop floor

ITJ Editor: In innovation, Ingersoll Rand is considered a pioneer. What are its contributions? How does it carry these activities?
DS:
Ingersoll Rand has launched revolutionary Battery DC Tool (QX Series), which can directly display torque date on tool screen. QX tool is ergonomic, portable & sturdy, it has been appreciated widely by all customers. Furthermore IR is coming up with is M2 & G3 Series composite body pneumatic grinders.

ITJ Editor: Sustainability drive. What are the objectives and achievements of Ingersoll Rand in this field?
DS:
Whatever product Ingersoll Rand develops is free from hazardous mat
