Global meet on natural fibres

The Indian Natural Fibre Society plans to organise International Conference on Natural Fibres from July 9-11, 2014 at Science City, Kolkata. The theme of the conference is Jute & Allied Fibres. The main goal of the International Seminar on Natural fibres/Jute & Allied Fibres is to raise the profile of these fibres and to emphasise their value to consumers while helping to sustain the incomes of the farmers. In addition, the International Seminar will promote the efficiency and sustainability of production of these natural fibres, encourage appropriate policy responses from governments to the problems faced by the concerned industries, and foster an effective and enduring international partnership for the prospect of these natural fibres in the light of growing eco-consciousness across the world.

The International Conference on Natural Fibres is being organised by The Indian Natural Fibre Society In collaboration with NIRJAFT, ICAR, Kolkata; CRIJAF, ICAR, Barrackpore; National Jute Board, India.

National Institute of Research on Jute and Allied Fibre Technology (NIRJAFT) situated in 12, Regent Park, Kolkata is a premier institute under Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and dedicated to the research of jute and allied fibres leading to the diversified use and industrial growth since Jan 1939. The institute is adequately equipped with the state-of-the-art laboratories having sophisticated instruments, equipments, machinery, workshop, library, museum, pilot plant along with guest house on the adjoining campus of staff quarters.
