According to AEPC, the decision to extend
the interest equalisation scheme for shipment rupee export credit for the next
three months will help the sector.

According to A Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC,
this interest scheme will also benefit Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises
popularly known as MSMEs which are struggling due to a lack of working capital.
With this scheme, the sector will be able to deal with the impact of the
pandemic.

The chairman also added that with the
interest subvention scheme, the apparel exporters will be able to reduce their
cost of capital in these tough times. It is a good move by the government as
these exporters will become more competitive in the international markets.

FIEO also appreciated this move as it will
help achieve a higher level of export performance.
