Diwali signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Dow India celebrates this spirit of Diwali, with the launch of its partnership with the Mann Deshi Foundation at Lote in Maharashtra. The company’s new CSR initiative will drive economic empowerment of rural women, facilitating business training and micro-financing to women entrepreneurs in rural areas. The Mann Deshi Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded with a mission to impart knowledge and skill and is currently working with over 300,000 women entrepreneurs turn their dreams into reality.

Last year, Dow India was recognised by Avtar Rankings for its initiatives in creating an empowered workforce; its partnership with Mann Deshi is the company’s first initiative for women’s empowerment in rural areas. In the picture; company leaders (L to R) Subhash Mukadam (Manufacturing leader, India region), Chandrakan Dhuri, Manufacturing Manager, Dow Agrosciences, Tom Christie (Director, Global Strategic Projects), Ruby Thapar (PAGA leader, India region) and Chetan Sinha (CEO Mann Deshi Foundation) are seen with the beneficiaries of the Mann Deshi Foundation at the inauguration of the centre.
