The 2nd Defence-ITTA Joint Exhibition-cum-Seminar on Technical Textiles will be held on 25th & 26th May 2016 at the Sarvatra Auditorium, CME, Khadki, Pune according to the Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA).

Textile manufacturing firm, KPR Mill, plans to double its processing capacity at a cost of Rs 120 crore. The project is set to be completed in nine months and the firm plans to fund its expense through internal accruals and debt.

China plans to restart auctions to sell off some of its 11 million metric-ton stockpile—the world’s largest—in the second half of April, a move likely to keep cotton prices under pressure meanwhile. China’s National Development and Reform Commission, an economic planning and development agency, will hold auctions from the middle or end of April to reduce its cotton stockpiles, according to CNDRC.

Cotton Outlook continues to forecast raw cotton production in 2016/17 at 22,748,000 tonnes, representing an increase of eight percent on the previous period. Cotton area is expected to increase modestly and a repeat of the current season?s reduction to yields is not foreseen. Global consumption is also unchanged, at 23,317,000, just 1.4 percent higher than in 2015/16.

Mafatlal Industries (MIL), the flagship company of Arvind Mafatlal Group, estimates to close the current financial year with 25 per cent increase in its turnover at Rs 1,250 crore as compared to Rs 1,013 crore previous year.
