The Federation of Indian Exporters’ Organisation (FIEO) has called for exploring UAE platform for re-exports to western world, while advising Indian textile companies to promote ‘Brand India’ in overseas markets. Vipul, Consul General of India, Dubai, said Indian textile companies should explore Dubai platform to boost their business volumes.

The Telangana Government recently announced a host of measures, including a Rs 10.5-crore loan waiver, setting up of handloom and powerloom corporations for implementation of subsidy for yarn, chemicals and dyes, and administrative sanction for a handlooom park in Gadwal city, to boost the handloom sector in the State.

The Textiles Secretary, Anant Kumar Singh disclosed that Ministry of textiles has constituted eight committees comprising industry representatives to formulate standards in technical textile industry. Already 295 standards have been formulated in the areas of medical textiles, geo textiles, industrial textiles, protective textiles.

Subhash Bhargava—a technocrat and Managing Director of Colorant Ltd, a leading reactive dyes manufacturer and exporter based in Ahmedabad—has received the award in first award function for extending specialised services to the textile and garment industry at Hotel Hive, Panipat on October 7, 2017 organised by Garmek and Igmatex.

Savio Macchine Tessili is set to participate in ShanghaiTex, the 18th international exhibition on textile industry, in China from November 27 to 30, 2017, in hall E1 stand B11. Savio is a leader in yarn finishing machine sector, operating in marketing of automatic winders, etc.

Vietnam’s textile and clothing companies are currently being upgraded. Last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) presented the government with a general restructuring plan for the period covering 2016 to 2020.

Asia’s textile chemicals market is projected to exhibit a CAGR of 7.6 per cent to reach nearly $11,626 million by the end of 2014-2020.
