Indo Rama Synthetics, India’s largest dedicated polyester manufacturer, announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2017.

Asics Ventures, the investment subsidiary of sportswear brand Asics, has made its first investment, taking a stake in Ai Silk Corporation, a Japanese start-up affiliated with Tohoku University that is developing conductive textiles.

The Maharashtra cabinet has approved a new textile policy for 2018-2023 to attract investment of Rs 36,000 crore and generate 10 lakh jobs. The Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD), under the commerce ministry, Government of India, has concluded that imposition of anti-dumping duty (ADD) is not warranted on imports of polyester staple fibre (PSF) from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Cotton imports by Southeast Asian nation of Vietnam have surged by around 50 per cent in January 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data from the country?s ministry of industry and trade. The US, followed by India, Australia, Brazil and Ivory Coast were the major suppliers of white fibre to Vietnam during the month.
