Arab Carpet and Flooring Expo, along with Yarn and Fiber Expo in 2017, will run for the second time at the award-winning Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is the symbolic and chosen city for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which owns the world?s largest hand-made carpet and has truly world-class flooring.
This unique carpet, made especially for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque by around 1,300 Iranian carpet knotters, measures 5,627 m2 (60,570 sq ft). Its weight is 35 tonne, has approximately 2.27 billion knots and took approximately two years to complete. It was made from cotton, and wool sourced from New Zealand and Iran.
The First Edition of Arab Carpet and Flooring Expo was a successful launch trade show which saw 47 Exhibitors come together from 15 countries around the world and visitors who were from 34 countries, making it a truly international event.
