BTRA scientist gets innovation award

Growth Programme 2015, run by Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Government of India, Lockheed Martin Corporation, USA, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (USSTF), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Standford Graduate School of Business, USA and IC2 Institute of University of Texas, USA, Scientist Smita Deogaonkar from The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA) is awarded for her innovative work on ´Fabric based Heat Elements for Warmth / Fomentation in Medical Applications´ for the year 2015.

Under this programme, approximately 1,300 technology applications are received and evaluated. BTRA receives this award for second year in succession. Last year, Shital Palaskar, another BTRA scientist, had won it for her work on Application of Plasma Technology to Textiles.
