Since 1931, Arvind Ltd stands tall as the flagship enterprise of the $14 billion Lalbhai group. Arvind has marked its presence throughout the apparel value chain – from fibre to retail. The company has recently made a strong foray in the technical textiles space and has soon become Indias largest manufacturer of fire protection fabrics.

PROBAN®

Arvind Limited is the only licensed manufacturer of PROBAN®treated Flame Retardant fabrics and garments in India. Cotton and Cotton rich fabrics are treated with PERFORM chemicals and subsequently ammonia cured to make PROBAN® fabrics. This makes the PROBAN® life time durable with the comfort of cotton. Arvind s Proban" range includes Indigo Dyed Denim, Vat dyed solids, yarn dyed and knits. All fabrics are tested from international testing labs like BTTG (UK), STFI (Germany), Underwriters Laboratory (USA) for different safety standards like ISO11612,ISOl1611, NFPA2112 and NFPA70E Proban" fabrics produced by Arvind are also tested in-house and by Rhodias UKAS (ISO 17025) accredited lab in UK before use. Rhodia issues Proban” labels for insertion into garments, enabling identification of genuine Proban” garments.

PYROVATEX®

PYROVATEX® treated fabrics from Arvind offer very good protection against heat and flame. These fabrics are durable to multiple washes and certified as per ISO 11612,ISO 11611from BTTG (UK), STFI (Germany). PYROVATEX®treated fabrics also come in combination with anti-static grids, hi-visibility colours and OWR finishes. Chemical Relellent finish option is also available in combination with FR for protection against select hazardous chemicals. Arvinds long history in manufacturing cotton textiles ensure supreme quality of the final products making them soft to touch with a rich feel.

NOMEX®IIIA

Arvind is the exclusive licensee of DuPont for manufacturing NOMEX® branded fabrics and garments in India. NOMEX® brand fibres are inherently flame resistant: the flame resistance is an inherent property of the polymer chemistry It will not diminish during the life of the fibre. It gives protection against flash fire and electric arc exposure. Apart from the very good FR properties, NOMEX® has also got very good tensile properties, chemical resistance and thermal stability The presence of 5% KEVLAR«in NOMEX® iliA inhibits thermal shrinkage, thus reducing the probability of break-open and the subsequent loss of the protective barrier. It always comes with 2 per cent pre-blended P-140 carbon based anti- static fibres for protection from static hazards.

PROTEX®

Arvind also manufactures FR fabrics using the inherently flame-resistant PROTEX® modacrylic fibres from Kaneka Corporation, Japan. PROTEX® exhibits a high LOI value and is designed to blend perfectly with natural and man-made fibres to produce high quality textiles with superb handle, drape and appearance. PROTEX®does not melt or drip when ignited. A PROTEX® blended fabric will self-extinguish and form achar barrier that works asashield to minimise fire damage. It is also available in hi-visibility colours certified as per EN471standards.
