The Modi government´s maiden budget was a balanced one and they did a commendable job with the time constraints they had. It is a right mix of economic stimulus and addressing the needs of the common man.
We also welcome government´s Rs 200 crore budgetary support for setting up six textile mega clusters at Bareilly, Lucknow, Surat, Kutch, Bhagalpur, Mysore and Tamil Nadu, which is a positive for the sector.
With the government allocating Rs 30 crore and Rs 50 crore respectively for setting up Hastkala Academy for the revival of the handloom/handicraft and Pashmina Promotion Programme, the government seems keen in promoting the skills of the country´s local talent, which is a good sign.
