Togo

BERNOS Textile (ASBM Industrial Plc) has signed an agreement with Plateforme Industrielle d’Adétikopé or Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA) – Togo’s first industrial platform – for setting up textile plant.

PIA – which offers attractive investment opportunities for global textile majors – is a vertically integrated industrial zone, focussed at creating thriving value chains for the textile industry: from raw material sourcing, to resource transformation (manufacturing), to

exporting final products. PIA is a public-private partnership between the Republic of Togo and Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (IIP). Arise IIP will develop, finance, build, and manage this industrial platform.

“PIA was honoured to welcome its Ethiopian partner, Mr Abiy Gidey from ASBM Industrial Plc to proceed with the signing of a partnership with its textile industry. We look forward to building a strong partnership with ASBM Industrial Plc with the aim of sharing their expertise in Togo,” said PIA in a statement. ASBM Industrial Plc is one of Ethiopia’s fastest growing textile manufacturing companies.

Through this partnership, BERNOS Textile will be able to launch a spinning and knitting factory in the industrial zone for the production of cotton yarn and knitwear. With this, the company will increase its initial production capacity from 15 tonnes to 30 tonnes per day. It helps BERNOS Textile to synergise the advantages offered by PIA with its expertise in the textile field.
