Operating EBITDA turns positive despite a marginal decline in quarterly revenue.

Meenakshi India (MIL), a manufacturer and exporter of apparel, reported a 152.84 per cent year-on-year rise in standalone net profit to Rs 70.13 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 20.82 million in the corresponding period last year.

Standalone operating income declined 3.14 per cent to Rs 320.35 million during Q1FY27 from Rs 330.40 million in Q1FY26. Operating EBITDA improved to Rs 10.10 million from an operating loss of Rs 1.6 million in the year-ago period.

Earnings per share increased 152.59 per cent to Rs 6.34 from Rs 2.51 in Q1FY26.

Commenting on the results, Ashutosh Goenka, Chairman and Managing Director, Meenakshi India, said profitability improved significantly despite broadly stable revenues, supported primarily by other income during the quarter.

Goenka said the company’s core garment operations also returned to positive operating performance after reporting an operating loss in the corresponding quarter last year. He added that the improvement indicated that corrective measures undertaken over the past year were beginning to deliver results.

The company expects easing tariff-related uncertainty in the US and developments in trade agreements to improve its competitive position against exporting countries such as Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Meenakshi India, which was earlier listed on the Calcutta Stock Exchange, was recently listed on the BSE Main Board. Goenka said the listing would strengthen the company’s visibility, investor accessibility and participation while supporting its ambition to build a globally competitive, export-led manufacturing business.
