Bharat Tex 2026 unveiled as India’s global textile showcase

Event to bring together global buyers and industry leaders.

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday officially unveiled Bharat Tex 2026, positioning it as India’s premier global textile platform and one of the world’s largest integrated textile exhibitions.

Scheduled to take place from July 14 to July 17 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the event will present the entire textile value chain, spanning fibre and yarn to fabrics, garments, technical textiles and sustainability-driven innovations.

According to the Ministry of Textiles, the upcoming edition is expected to attract more than 3,500 business exhibitors, over 7,000 international buyers representing more than 140 countries, and around 1.3 lakh trade visitors.

Speaking at the launch, Singh said the event aims to strengthen India’s position as a dependable and sustainable sourcing destination while also emerging as a major investment hub for the global textile industry.

The Minister noted that the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s “5F” vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign markets—under the Make in India programme.

Bharat Tex 2026 will bring together stakeholders from across the textile ecosystem, including manufacturers, designers, exporters, startups, MSMEs and policymakers. The exhibition will feature segments such as apparel and fashion, home textiles, technical textiles, handicrafts, handlooms and advanced manufacturing technologies.

The event will also host knowledge sessions, policy dialogues, reverse buyer-seller meets and industry interactions aimed at fostering business partnerships and boosting textile exports.

A major highlight will be the Global Textile Dialogue, where policymakers, industry leaders and experts will discuss key themes such as sustainable textiles, ESG standards, Industry 5.0, evolving global trade dynamics and resilient supply chains.

The fair is an industry-led initiative organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, an umbrella body comprising 11 textile-related export promotion councils and other industry organisations. Officials said the event builds on the success of previous editions held in 2024 and 2025 and is expected to further strengthen India’s position in the global textile and apparel market while promoting investment, innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
