Slack & Parr to Showcase Enhanced Gear Pump Range at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025
The company has introduced an updated range of specialist IDY pumps, designed to process high-viscosity polymers for industrial yarns
Precision gear metering specialist Slack & Parr will present its upgraded range of large-capacity gear pumps for heavy denier, industrial, and nonwoven applications at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, to be held from October 28–31 in Singapore (Hall 4, Stand D305).
A member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), Slack & Parr supplies high-accuracy gear metering pumps widely used across the manmade fibre sector. These pumps ensure uniformity and consistency in processing polymers such as acrylic, polyester, nylon, spandex, and aramid, contributing to the production of high-quality yarns and textiles.
The company has introduced an updated range of specialist IDY pumps, designed to process high-viscosity polymers for industrial yarns. Engineered for demanding environments involving high pressures and temperatures, these pumps maintain precise flow control at variable speeds while ensuring robust, reliable performance.
Developed in collaboration with a leading Japanese plant equipment manufacturer, the new industrial yarn metering pumps underwent an extensive design review covering pump strengths, material selection, and performance. Following successful trials, Slack & Parr received approval to supply its pump technologies for the manufacturer’s equipment. These pumps are now compatible with both new and existing IDY machine installations globally.
At ITMA Asia, visitors will be able to explore the pumps’ key features and specifications tailored for individual applications. The designs include:
- 1- and 2-outlet versions with capacities from 5–50cc/rev (up to 100cc/rev for single-stream versions).
- 4-outlet options with capacities ranging from 15–50cc/rev.
- Multiple sealing and drive choices to suit diverse requirements.
Commenting on the market outlook, Paul Wykes, Global Sales Director at Slack & Parr, said:
“We’re seeing steady growth in the industrial yarn market as manufacturers diversify into technical textiles to broaden their portfolios and improve profitability. Customers who traditionally focused on commodity fibres like polyester and nylon are now moving into specialty and industrial markets.
As a trusted partner with decades of proven expertise, we offer the flexibility to match our metering technologies precisely to customer needs, making us ideally positioned to support manufacturers seeking to expand into new segments.”
