Salem and Tiruppur are TechnoSport’s top-performing stores nationwide, highlighting Tamil Nadu’s key role in the brand’s growth.

TechnoSport, India’s fastest-growing activewear brand, has marked its Chennai foray with the launch of its first Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) in the city, a flagship store in the heart of Besant Nagar. This opening marks a major milestone in the brand’s aggressive retail push across South India, with plans to open 12 EBOs across Tamil Nadu by the end of this fiscal year. The new 1,600 sq ft store becomes TechnoSport’s 15th EBO in India and its fourth in Tamil Nadu, joining existing outlets in Tiruppur, Salem, and Coimbatore, along with one in Pondicherry.

Notably, Salem and Tiruppur currently rank as the top two performing stores in TechnoSport’s national retail portfolio, reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s strategic importance in the brand’s growth journey. Building on this strong regional momentum, TechnoSport is confident of opening three EBOs in Chennai alone before the end of this fiscal year, while also expanding into tier 1+ cities including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur as part of its deeper Southern India penetration strategy.

To commemorate the Chennai debut, over 1,200 fitness enthusiasts took part in the Friendship Day Run, with the brand acting as the marathon’s Activewear partner, with 3K, 5K, and 10K runs starting and concluding at the new Besant Nagar store. The vibrant morning featured t-shirt giveaways, an energetic Zumba warm-up, and a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director of TechnoSport, remarked, “Besant Nagar is one of Chennai’s most popular areas, receiving high footfall from fitness lovers and trendsetters alike. Our innovative and trend-first performance lines created and manufactured right here in Tamil Nadu are a perfect fit for Chennai’s evolving taste and active lifestyle. This launch brings us a step closer to making high-quality, innovative activewear accessible to all.”

Puspen Maity, CEO, TechnoSport, added, “With our 15th exclusive outlet across India, we’re accelerating our South India strategy. Each new store is more than a retail space, it’s a community hub empowering people to move, explore, and lead healthier lives. We are confident of opening three EBOs in Chennai alone before the end of this fiscal year. Beyond the metros, we look forward to reaching tier 1+ cities including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur.”

The Besant Nagar outlet offers a sleek, contemporary retail experience and features TechnoSport’s full range of high-performance activewear engineered for Indian conditions. The collection showcases cutting-edge in-house fabric innovations like Cotflex, known for its 4-way stretch and memory function, Techno Dry for quick-drying performance, and Matpiq, which combines a soft hand feel with a subtle matte texture. Technologies such as DURACOOL+, TechnoGuard for antimicrobial protection, and UPF 50+ sun protection further enhance comfort, hygiene, and durability, making each apparel ready for both intense workouts and everyday wear.

As TechnoSport continues scaling its EBO-first retail strategy, Tamil Nadu will remain at the vanguard of its southern expansion. With a total of 50 EBOs targeted across India by year-end, the company is poised to solidify its position as India’s most dynamic homegrown activewear brand.
