
New textile manufacturing facility opens in Mohali, Punjab
The new facility, Ortech Textiles, has been set up with an investment of Rs 3 billion and is spread across six acre.
Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Minister for Industries, IT and Labour, Punjab, inaugurated a textile manufacturing unit of orthopaedic aids manufacturer Tynor Orthotics in Mohali. The new facility, Ortech Textiles, has been set up with an investment of Rs 3 billion and is spread across six acre. It has been established to meet the complete raw material requirements of Tynor Orthotics.
The inauguration event was also attended by MLA Kulwant Singh, Tynor Orthotics Managing Director Dr P J Singh, and Executive Director A J Singh.
The minister appreciated Tynor Group for setting up the facility and highlighted that the state government had implemented major reforms in the industrial sector over the past eight months, including the launch of the Invest Punjab fast-track portal aimed at ensuring approvals within 45 days.
The company indicated that the new unit represents a move towards self-reliance by eliminating dependence on imported raw materials, especially from China. It also outlined plans to expand its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 employees, with Ortech Textiles expected to contribute 1,000 of these new jobs.
