Shah Devanshi Viren was recently appointed as officer on special duty to Indian textiles ministers Smriti Irani for five years. The appointment was cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet in its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Viren took charge on September 16 and her tenure will be counted from the date of assumption of charge. Viren’s tenure shall be co-terminus with the Union Minister’s tenure, the order stated.
