TN Govt, SVPITM organise workshops on TT

The Department of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPITM) are jointly organising a series of workshops, seminars and conferences in technical textiles for the existing and budding entrepreneurs. The workshops include two phases.
In Phase-I, know-how and sectorial training was provided in various domains of technical textiles. The sessions were conducted on product development, manufacturing process and market analysis on technical textiles. The sectorial training covers industrial and packaging textiles, agro textiles, home textiles and medical textiles. About 300 existing and budding entrepreneurs were benefited. And also an exclusive training programme was held for TNTC-Employees to upgrade Kurichi airjet looms for production and development of technical textiles. Participants underwent training in the respective sectors including industrial visits. This includes sessions on products, manufacturing process, technology, machines, standards, market demand and marketing strategy.
The Phase-II will be held during December 2018-March 2019. A seminar on geo-synthetics to Tamil Nadu government officials and Members of associations of Textiles, Civil and Real estates to explore the Technological developments of Geosynthetics and its application. A series of workshops will be organised to execute business plan on technical textiles sectors for existing and budding entrepreneurs. The resource persons are from various Manufacturing Industries, Research Associations, Center of Excellences, Higher Learning Institutions, etc.
A day seminar on geo-synthetics will be conducted on December 19, 2018.The resource persons are from Bombay Textiles Research Association (BTRA), Geo Textiles Centre of Excellence, Mumbai, Indian Jute Industries Research Association (IJIRA), Geosynthetics manufacturers and Academicians from leading institution like IIT-Delhi. 
The target audience are smart cities executives, Tamil Nadu Government officials involving in infrastructure development and various departments, members of textiles, civil and real estate association and budding entrepreneurs. There is no registration fee but earlier registration is mandatory. The programme will be held in Chennai.
