SIMA office-bearers re-elected for second term

The 59th Annual General Meeting of The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) was held on September 7, 2018 at The Residency Towers, Coimbatore.  Immediately after the 59th AGM, the new members of Committee at its 1st meeting unanimously re-elected P Nataraj, Managing Director, K P R Mill Limited, Coimbatore for the year 2018-19 as the Chairman of SIMA.
Nataraj is a member of the Committee of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) and also Vice-President of Indian Cotton Federation. He is a Managing Trustee in K.P.R. Institute of Engineering and Technology that extends quality education to the society.
K Vinayakam, Managing Director of SCM Textile Spinners and Managing Director of The Chennai Silks, has been unanimously re-elected as the Deputy Chairman of SIMA for the year 2018-19. Under his dynamic and influential leadership emerged “The Chennai Silks” an icon for textiles in Tamil Nadu and the first BIS-certified jewellery in Tamil Nadu “Sree Kumaran Thangamaligai”. He is Managing Director of Space Textiles, Coimbatore, which includes The Chennai Silks, Sree Kumaran Thangamaligan and SCM Textile Spinners.
Ashwin Chandran, Chairman & Managing Director, Precot Meridien, Coimbatore has been re-elected as the Vice-Chairman of SIMA for the year 2018-19. Coimbatore-based Precot Meridien are having textile units in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Chandran is a member of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai and Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, New Delhi.
