Marcos Furrer is new President of Archroma

Colour and speciality chemicals company, Archroma, has announced the appointment of Marcos Furrer, a Swiss national who holds 20 years of experience in the textile business, as its Brand & Performance Textile Specialities and Innovation Head. He will be based in their headquarters in Reinach, Switzerland.

“Furrer possesses the strong textile expertise and leadership skills that is what we need to drive the business in line with Archroma’s determined growth strategy,” said Archroma CEO Alexander Wessels while announcing the appointment of the new President.

Furrer will succeed Thomas Winkler, who will retire by the end of this month after working for more than 30 years in the textile industry, of which 12 years at the helm of the business at Archroma.

Furrer, who most recently served as Head of Regional Business Line Europe, BU Pigments, Strategic Plastics, holds the reputation of being a skilled, well-rounded business leader. He is also known for having the quality to deliver on deadlines.

In the past, he has served different textile companies such as Clariant, Textile Business, Textile Dyes and Textile Chemicals in México, Cellulosic Dyes in various roles. Professionally a chemical engineer, Furrer started his carrier as Product Manager Sulphur Dyes at Clariant in Switzerland.
