The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) has been organising the international textile machinery, accessories and spares exhibitions known as Texfair since the year 2001 for the mutual benefit of the supplier and user industries. Since the exhibition is being organised by the user industry association, the response for the exhibition has been over whelming during the earlier events.

Texfair 2017, a four-day international textile machinery, accessories, spares exhibition, the 11th edition in its series, being organised by SIMA is ready to showcase the modern developments during November 17-20, 2017 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. SIMA is also organising Farm to Finish Expo 2017, an event showcasing the products of entire textile value chain from cotton to finished products during the same period in the same venue for the third time.

P Nataraj, Chairman, SIMA; K Vinayakam, Deputy Chairman, SIMA; and Ashwin Chandran, Vice Chairman, SIMA, briefed the press about Texfair 2017 and Farm to Finish Expo 2017 events. They informed that 250 exhibitors will be displaying their products/services in 300 stalls. They said that the major products that would be displayed at the Fair would include textile machinery, spares, accessories, testing equipment, electrical and electronic components, etc. They have further said that apart from leading textile machinery, spares, accessories manufacturers/suppliers from Tamil Nadu, exhibitors from other States of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and from countries like Italy, Japan, Switzerland and China will also participate.

They further said that textile mills on an average spend 2.5 to 3 per cent of their annual turnover on spares and accessories and also plough back 4 to 6 per cent of their annual turnover on modernisation. He has said that Texfair 2017 would be an ideal platform for these mills to zero in their requirements, meet all the suppliers under one roof and prudently plan their investments, cut costs and improve the quality of the products they manufacture, especially when almost four million spindles are being added every year in the country. They further said that the fair would also give an opportunity for the textile mills to plan their ongoing and future investments in the mills. SIMA office-bearers have appealed to all the textile mills to visit the exhibition and derive maximum benefits.
