Applied DNA Sciences, Inc has announced that MeiLin Wan, Vice President of Textiles, received a 2017 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award at the organisation’s 16th annual dinner gala in New York City on June 20th.

The Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award Gala includes a wide array of Asian ethnicities that represent a microcosm of elite Asian American business owners, professionals and corporate executives across the United States. The award committee identifies and selects outstanding leaders who have built a successful business or who have distinguished themselves in their community.

Recognised for her contributions to secure supply chain solutions and services to assure quality and enable responsible sourcing practices for textile customers globally, Wan’s work fulfills the promise of, "keeping textiles real and safe." She has more than 25 years of experience in the biotechnology, consumer products, and personal care industries, specializing in marketing, sales, strategic and international management.

Today, Wan is actively working to initiate new platforms such as CertainTâ„¢ to safeguard supply chains against product recalls, and liability, while maintaining profitability and market differentiation. From 2014 to present, Wan has led Applied DNA’s efforts to tag, test, and trace over 160 million pounds of US grown cotton, resulting in the launch of products sold under the PimaCott® brand in over 1,700 stores throughout the United States and Canada.
