J Hayavadana pens a book on fabric structure

Prof J Hayavadana, a graduate from the Bangalore University of Textiles, post graduate in textile technology from PSG College of Technology (Bharathiyar University) and doctorate from Anna University under faculty of technology, has penned a book on fabric structure and design. The book is written with a view to link fabric formation and fabric structure. One can avail the book from Scitech Publications (India) Pvt Ltd for Rs 300.

The book has both simple and advanced woven design aspects with illustrative examples. At places, the designs are directed to reader for completion. Some chapters are with objective type questions and short answer questions along with assignments of designs. Terry towels has been dealt in depth. Construction steps have been given in all the examples. The professor has completed 27 years of teaching and has supervised 30 Ph.D thesis and was external examiner for 22 Ph.D candidates. In 2011, he also penned a book titled, ´Statistical methods for textile and apparel management´, which was published by M/S Wood Head Publishers, London.
