EURATEX welcomes Serge Piolat as its President taking the office in January 2015 for a two year term. Piolat, succeeding Alberto Paccanelli who headed EURATEX during the last four years, pointed out: ´Alberto Paccanelli achieved impressive results in consolidating the voice of the European textile and apparel companies. To further enhance our industry my intention is to concentrate on a few priority areas, namely genuine industrial policy, free and fair trade, research and innovation support and sustainable production.´

Piolat worked out an ambitious programme to be accomplished during his presidency. As an experienced entrepreneur, he believes that European trade associations should always work hand in hand with industry. Euratex has to be aware of companies´ actual needs to efficiently support policy makers in strengthening the European textile and clothing manufacturing. Piolat is convinced growth will come from increased exports.
