Bursa, Turkey

Uhde
Inventa-Fischer, a subsidiary of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, recently
signed a contract with Yürek Polimer A.S. to build a new world-scale polymer
plant in Bursa, Turkey. The proposed plant will produce PET (polyethylene
terephthalate) and will generate 300 metric tons per day or 108,000 tons per
year of PET melt, using thyssenkrupp technology.

The highlight of
this plant is its design to transport the polymer melt directly to several
downstream lines. This PET melt will be used for low-viscosity applications.
Some of it will be converted into PET Chips, while some more will be changed to
pre-oriented yarn.

Uhde
Inventa-Fischer is expected to deliver basic and detail engineering along with all
necessary components and technical services with regards to supervision for
erection, pre-commissioning and commissioning. Uhde’s proprietary technology
will be used to design the polycondensation plant to facilitate the production
of high-quality polyester polymer.

Both companies
have expressed delight about this collaboration to build a state-of-the-art PET
plant.
