Freudenberg Performance
Materials Apparel (Freudenberg) is expanding its product portfolio for the
sports and outdoor market. In addition to comfortemp® thermal insulation, the
leading manufacturer of technical textiles is now offering sustainable, highly
elastic and breathable inserts and tapes for all types of sportswear with the
Freudenberg Active Range. Freudenberg is also showing comfortemp® FLEXX, the
first adaptive thermal insulation with elastic reinforcement elements, at the digital
ISPO Munich 2021 from 1 to 5, February, 2021 at www.ispo.com

Sustainability is an
integral part of Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel’s business
activities. For example, the company recycles around seven million used PET
bottles every day, making it one of the largest recyclers of used PET bottles
in Europe. This is also reflected in the Freudenberg Active Range: Most
products are made from at least 70 per cent recycled polyester. Thanks to their
highly developed adhesive polymers, selected products in the series are ideally
suited for complex and difficult-to-process outer fabrics. Highly elastic outer
fabrics retain their flexibility despite being fixed and remain breathable.
This is ensured by a special technology with which the adhesive material is
applied to a carrier material in the form of small dots without a base
material.

New: comfortemp® FLEXX

With comfortemp® FLEXX,
Freudenberg is launching the first adaptive insulation made from warming and
breathable padding with elastic reinforcement elements for high levels of
sports activity. It is ideal for outdoor sportswear for cycling, running and skiing
and is made of 95 percent recycled polyester. If the wearer moves, the padding
expands, is thin, extremely air-permeable and breathable. If the movement comes
to a standstill, it contracts again and meets all the requirements for
high-performance thermal insulation for sports and outdoor clothing. It keeps
you warm even when wet. comfortemp® FLEXX has an outstanding stretch content of
up to 20 per cent.

Consistent quality, easy processing

The innovative processing
of the padding with reinforcement threads prevents fibre migration through the
outer fabric and is offered by the meter. This reduces production time and
processing costs for clothing manufacturers. The new padding meets the OEKO-TEX
standard. comfortemp® FLEXX was chosen in the TOP 5 of the ISPO TexTrends.
