YSR lays foundation for 70-crore footwear unit

With the aim to develop the Kadapa
district into an industrial zone, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra
Pradesh, laid the foundation stone for a footwear manufacturing unit worth Rs
70 crore by Apache Intelligent SEZ.

The unit in the Kadapa district will
provide employment opportunities to about 2,000 locals and manufacturing
capacity of over 2 million pairs of footwear every year, as per a news report.

The Apache SEZ industrial park
already employs over 10,000 people and has an annual production of about 18
million pairs of shoes.

Apache Investment Holding is an exclusive supplier of footwear to global brand
with a presence in Vietnam, China, Thailand and India.
