The 2nd Defence-ITTA joint exhibition-cum-seminar on technical textiles will be held on May 25-26, 2016 at the Sarvatra Auditorium, CME, Khadki, Pune according to the Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA).

The 1st Defence-ITTA Joint Exhibition-cum-Seminar on Make in India was successfully held in February, 2015. The connectivity created during the 1st seminar between the defence officials and the leaders of the technical textile manufacturers in India have resulted in product quality improvement, reduction in imports and new product development for defence during the post event period. With this background, 2nd exhibition-cum-seminar on technical textiles is being planned now. Indian defense sector is one of the largest consumers of technical textile products in the country, who in addition to a range of conventional technical textile products are consuming specialised functional textiles many of which are imported. In this seminar various users from the Indian defense sector would interact with the technical textile industry and ITTA members. Indian defense sector will present their requirements of clothing and footwear, procurement procedures, etc while indigenous manufacturers will get opportunities to showcase products and capabilities to create a new era of manufacturing and sourcing of these products from India.

Eminent speakers from Indian defense sector, ITTA and technical textile industry will present the following topics of interest to the Indian Defence sector and the Textile Industry during the two-day event: Requirement and Aspirations of Indian Defence sector; Defence Procurement Procedures and annual Budgeting; Organisation, Capabilities and Aspirations of ITTA & Industry; DRDO initiatives and contributions to Defence sector; What Technical Textile Industry can offer to Indian Defence sector; Quality Assurance and Testing Services offered by DGQA.

ITTA expects about 200-300 delegates from the Indian defense sector and the textile industry to attend this two-day seminar and a large number of exhibitors to participate in the exhibition.
