Ramdev, yoga guru and founder of Patanjali Group, said that the brand is planning to foray into the textile manufacturing sector.

The amount of orders received by the Rieter Group in the first nine months of 2016 was significantly higher than for the same period of the previous year. Cumulative order intake amounted to CHF 718.4 million and was thus up by 22 per cent on the said prior year period. Order intake in the third quarter totaled CHF 207.7 million owing to an investment reluctance in Turkey. The market environment in the third quarter was characterised by differing dynamics in the individual countries as well as with regard to the product categories.

The recently concluded ITMA ASIA + CITME 2016 textile machinery exhibition, the largest showcase in the series since its launch in 2008, received a very strong response from visitors. Oerlikon’s results in the third quarter of 2016 reflect the continued positive development in the surface solutions business, but were still impacted by weak market demand in filaments equipment, and in the agriculture and energy sectors.

The Surface Solutions Segment saw stable sales development in most of its key markets (tooling, automotive, general industries and power generation). The exception was aviation, where an uptick was registered. The filaments equipment market continued its downtrend, in line with China’s 13th Five-Year Plan and Oerlikon’s expectations. However, there appears to be the first light on the horizon and the Segment expects that the filaments equipment market will see a turnaround in 2016.

Nonwoven fibres are used in applications including surgical gowns and masks, sterilization bags, medical filtration products, and a range of sanitary and hygienic pads, and wound-care dressings. Since pigments and additives used to colour or modify the polymer potentially increase the risk of extraction and interaction if the products come in contact with bodily fluids, these applications often require extraction and biological evaluation to standards such as US Pharmacopeia (USP) <87>,<88> or similar.
