Following an illustrious career that has spanned over three and a half decades at Supima, Jesse W Curlee, President/CEO, has announced to the Supima Board of Directors that he will retire effective December 31, 2015. Curlee´s stewardship of the organisation during his tenure has covered a remarkable career of more than 36 years of service to Supima, its producer members and the American Pima cotton industry.

DuPont has recently launched DuPont´ Tychem® ThermoPro, a single layer, triple-threat protection garment, at the Civil Defence Training Center in Dubai Academic City. DuPont´ Tychem® ThermoPro is an innovative single layer garment that offers protection from liquid-chemical jet, flash fire, and electric arc. During the launch, a live demonstration of DuPont´ Tychem® ThermoPro garment on the Thermo-Man® life-sized instrumented mannequin system was also conducted.
Textile Recycler, a member of the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART), the international trade association of the for-profit used clothing reuse and recycling industry, diverts more than half a million pounds of clothing and 10,000 pounds of shoes each week from landfills with the use of automated sorting systems.

It was the textile technology show with everything. From the USTER viewpoint, the recent ShanghaiTex 2015 was a multi-faceted success: important contracts concluded, new deals initiated, market insights, and more visitors for USTER, up 7 per cent on the previous edition. And, unfortunately, there was also more rain ´ heavy downpours which kept the overall attendance at ShanghaiTex 2015 somewhat below expectations.
